About Capital Markets, Financial Markets & M&A 2026

2026 marks a new geopolitical and economic phase for Lithuania and the wider Baltic region, where security considerations have become a structural factor in economic and investment policy. Increased financing of defence and dual-use sectors, alongside energy and infrastructure projects, as well as shifts in European capital market priorities, are driving selective capital allocation and differentiated return opportunities across the region.

A changing interest rate environment, tighter risk assessment frameworks and rising regulatory requirements are shaping an investment landscape in which decisions are increasingly based on capital structure, liquidity and long-term cash-flow sustainability rather than cyclical growth expectations alone.

Under the conference theme, “Reinventing Growth in a New Geopolitical Era,” discussions will focus on how financial market participants can adapt to geopolitical and macroeconomic pressures, assess evolving financing structures, understand the interaction between public and private markets, and identify sectors in which capital deployed in the Baltic region can deliver competitive, risk-adjusted returns in the 2026–2027 period.

The conference brings together senior leaders from financial institutions, corporations, investment funds and the public sector to discuss the forces shaping capital raising, market confidence and long-term growth in 2026–2027. Particular attention will be given to Lithuania’s role as a stable financial hub at the EU’s eastern flank and to cross-border capital flows influenced by security, technology and infrastructure priorities.

Moderator: Robert Juodka, Chairman of the Board, Estonian Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania; Managing Partner (International Business), Noewe Legal Law Firm
