Hello world!

November 25, 2025

A few days ago, the Chiefs of Defence of the three Baltic states stated clearly the reality of today’s security situation: we have no time to waste. We must be smart and innovative, while remaining firmly grounded in the fundamental principles of conventional warfare. In light of recent security incidents involving drones and balloons, it is evident that a coordinated response across national borders – still below the Article 5 threshold- is urgently needed. To avoid the inevitable trap where armies prepare only for the previous war, it is essential to bring together defence forces and the private sector. Only by doing so can innovative solutions be rapidly integrated into capability planning and actual use, taking into account new lessons from the war against Ukraine—which is, in many ways, potentially also our “last war.” Si vis pacem, para bellum remains timeless wisdom, even as the line between peace and war grows increasingly blurred. With these words, the Ambassador of Estonia in Lithuania, H.E. Kaili Terras, opened the discussion “Integrated Defence Concept. The Drone Wall and its Perspectives in Lithuania.” This discussion brought together prominent experts whose insights help us better understand what it takes to maintain peace in an increasingly unpredictable world.
